This section is being broken into specific parts which deal with generic questions concerning our sales policies, and specific questions concerning products.

I. General Questions:
Q. What is my price/cost?
A. The price of any product is determined by a number of factors. Quantity and point of delivery are the most important considerations in determining your cost. For example, because sodium hypochlorite is frequently delivered by bulk tank truck, size of the delivery determines the price. Items such as caustic soda or alum, while delivered in bulk tank truck quantities, are usually priced on an individual basis. Generally, these items are delivered as a single shipment.
Q. What is our minimum quantity for shipment?
A. There are no minimum quantities for shipment. However, freight is always a major consideration in determining your price. Our policy is to you, the customer, with the best product for a fair and reasonable price.
Q. What are the requirements to store chemicals on my site?
A. The laws for storage of chemicals are varied from locale to locale. In general, you should check with your town's building department or health department. There is usually no specific requirements for packaged or drummed material as they are considered portable. When there is an installation such as a tank, you town or state may require spill containment to prevent chemical contamination of the environment. New York state re-quires tanks to be registered with the State before they may be filled.
Q. How dangerous are the chemicals we sell?
A. Most chemicals are dangerous when handled improperly. When used according to the directions on the label, along with the appropriate safety equipment hazards may be minimized. Before using any chemical always read the label to determine what safety equipment may be necessary. If you are receiving a bulk delivery make sure you have the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) on hand before use. Suppliers are required bylaw to provide an MSDS sheet for any hazardous material they sell.
Q. What types of chemicals do you sell?
A. We sell many types of chemicals, however, water treatment chemicals are the largest category. This includes chlorine compounds, pH products such as acids and liquid caustics, and dry products such as soda ash or sodium bicarbonate.
Q. What are your terms of sale?
A. Our regular terms are Net 30 days to credit approved customers. We ask you to supply the names of three trade references and the name of your bank. In addition we use TRW for credit reports.
Q. How may I place an order?
A. Orders may be placed by calling our offices weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our phone numbers are (973) 589-1525 or (888) 589-1525. Orders may also be placed by voice mail at extension 150. Orders may also be faxed to (973) 589-8013.
Q. How may I set up an account?
A. Accounts may be set up by providing us with your billing and shipping addresses. If credit is required, a credit form must be submitted. The information may be telephoned, faxed or mailed.
Q. What days are you in my area?
A. While we have a set schedule for hypochlorite deliveries, there is no special day set aside for other type delivery. Special shipment can also be provided. We can schedule automatic delivery so that you do not have to place an order for every shipment. We will confirm your delivery the day before to determine if the shipment is required. Our goal is to provide you with the chemical you require within the time frame you specify.

II. Sodium Hypochlorite (SH)
Q. What strength is your sodium hypochlorite and how is it packaged?
A. Our sodium hypochlorite is 12% by weight. This is the same as 15% by volume. The material contains 150 grams of available chlorine per liter. Sodium hypochlorite is available packaged in one, five, and fifty-five gallon packages. Bulk deliveries are usually from fifty gallons to full truckloads of 5000 gallons.
Q. How much sodium hypochlorite is used in a swimming pool?
A. There are too many factors which determine the chlorine demand in any application, including swimming pools. However, one ounce of product in 1000 gallons of water will establish 1.0 ppm of chlorine. Therefore, as an example, a typical pool of 10,000 gallons would need 10 ounces of sodium hypochlorite to establish 1 ppm of chlorine. Thereafter, frequent testing of the water will determine how much more to add in order to maintain a proper chlorine level between 1.0 and 3.0 ppms of chlorine.
Q. How much sodium hypochlorite should I purchase?
A. Because sodium hypochlorite degrades with age and exposure to both heat and light, we recommend no more than a one month supply for summer use. In cooler months, quantities may be increased to two or three months supply.
Q. Is your Sodium Hypochlorite approved by NSF?
A. Our sodium hypochlorite is approved by Underwriters Laboratories to the NSF 60 specification. The product also meets or exceeds the AWWA specification for sodium hypochlorite. It is also registered with the United States EPA, The NJDEP and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and the USDA.
Q. What can your sodium hypochlorite be used for?
A. Sodium hypochlorite has a variety or uses, however it is primarily used as a disinfectant and sanitizer. It is used in laundries, hospitals, drinking water plants, sewerage treatment plants, swimming pools, textile processing plants, paper manufacturing, and metal plating plants to name a few.
